Urban Screen Spotlight

Editorial policy

Urban Screen Spotlight aims to make its explanations clear, careful and independent. We distinguish description from interpretation, make uncertainty visible and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual claims against suitable material before publication and avoid presenting assumptions as established facts. Articles explain the scope of their claims and use plain language where possible. When a subject is disputed or information is incomplete, we say so rather than smoothing over the uncertainty.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made for reader interest, not to promise favourable coverage. Partner or sponsored material is identified clearly where it appears, and commercial arrangements do not determine the conclusions of independent editorial work. We do not imply that a partner endorses an article unless that relationship is explicitly described.

Corrections and illustrations

Readers can send corrections through the Contact page. We review credible reports, amend significant errors and make the nature of a correction clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that is the case, the illustration is labelled so readers can distinguish it from documentary imagery.
